PREP FOOTBALL: Dinkle powers Vinemont past Hanceville 26-12 | Sports

Cloudy. Periods of rain this morning. Thunder possible. High 57F. Winds N at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%.. HANCEVILLE — Dallin Dinkle rushed for 281 yards and two touchdowns on a career-high 47 carries, Vinemont’s defense recorded three fourth-quarter interceptions, and the Eagles went into Ray Talley Stadium on Friday night and exited with a 26-12 victory over the Bulldogs. Jack Hill also completed a pair of touchdown passes to Colby Miller to help Vinemont move to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in Class 3A, Region 5 play following the road win. “I’m thrilled with the way we fought,” coach Stephen Robinson said. “Way too many mistakes. Three turnovers by us. The defense got some, though, so that helped. Our effort is awesome. We’re playing with great effort right now, but we’re still having some missed assignments. Overall, we stayed patient with the offense — it’s kind of new for us — and I feel like it’s paying off for us. Eventually, we wore ‘em down and mashed ‘em. It worked out well.” The Eagles jumped ahead 8-0 following Dinkle’s 19-yard touchdown run and subsequent 2-point conversion in the latter stages of the opening stanza. The home team, though, responded midway through t...

The Q2 earnings transcript suggests that the Q3 guidance did not factor in Google and Twitter, meaning a positive Q3 surprise is likely. Since Google and Twitter are onboard with AMD’s superior product, it’s likely that other Intel clients will follow suit. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) just launched its EPYC Rome processor. The specs show superior performance when compared to Intel’s (INTC) latest Xeon processor. Not surprisingly, this caused Alphabet Inc.’s subsidiary Google LED Street Light, LED Garden Light, Flood Light, Buried Light – Austar,https://www.chinaaustar.com/

It has been a while since I took a hiatus from Seeking Alpha, for reasons much

It has been a while since I took a hiatus from Seeking Alpha, for reasons much discussed at the time. While I was gone Tesla lost another half billion dollars, and now is about to face an onslaught of competition. I’ve been gone since July of 2018. Most of you know the story. I have remained deeply grateful to Seeking Alpha for its superb and supportive response. And now I’m back. American solar companies turn to OEMs for custom solar panels

Although American solar panel manufacturing is growing and many global brands have set up in the country, the domestic demand far outweighs supply. This often leads to mismatched or unfulfilled orders to needy installers. To ensure contracts are met, some installers might choose to source their own panels and use an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for smaller orders of custom product. There are a few U.S. panel manufacturing plants that also offer space as OEMs, and a number of players take advantage — whether it’s a foreign company wanting to deliver a batch of Made-in-USA product or a small domestic outfit with a unique need. CertainTeed Solar has a network of installation partners that have become accustomed to its high-quality roofing products and want the same in the solar department. Lumos Solar makes beautiful architecture projects with integrated solar that not just anyone can supply. And Next Energy Alliance is a Utah installer and distributor that wants a consistent supply of solar panels. These three companies aren’t trying to be panel manufacturing powerhouses but are supplying niche markets and a steady stream of customers through OEMs. CertainTeed has been a...

COVID-19: Palmyra parents Jessica and Nathan Peake throw ‘drive-by’ birthday party for son Louie to maintain social distance

In the age of social distancing, people are finding creative ways to connect with friends and neighbours — all from a safe 1.5m away. In Palmyra, coronavirus chaos couldn’t stop Jessica and Nathan Peake throwing their son Louie the third birthday party of his dreams. When the pandemic forced them to cancel their planned birthday get-together with family and friends, Mrs Peake searched for another way to brighten their boy’s day. She invited family, friends and members of the community through a local Facebook group to meet in their cars at a nearby park yesterday morning, before slowly driving past their home to wish a very excited Louie a happy birthday. The procession of about 100 vehicles was led by Louie’s very favourite truck — the City of Melville rubbish truck. “Louie loves waving to the rubbish trucks every Tuesday morning, so this just made his day,” Mrs Peake said. The street was in gridlock for about 40 minutes as drivers blared Happy Birthday on their stereos, held up colourful birthday banners and waved balloons and streamers out their windows. “Someone even painted ‘Happy Birthday Louie’ down the side of their car. It was incredible,” Mrs Peake said. “People are s...

Wearable motion sensors could save unborn babies: Stevens team repurposes smartphone-style motion sensors to reduce stillbirths — ScienceDaily

The thump, thump of a baby’s heartbeat is a milestone in any pregnancy. Now, researchers at Stevens Institute of Technology have developed a technique that could allow expectant parents to hear their baby’s heartbeat continuously at home with a non-invasive and safe device that is potentially more accurate than any fetal heartrate monitor currently available in the market. The device, which uses the same commercial sensors used in smartphones to horizontally or vertically orient the device, can record vibrations sent through a mother’s abdomen when her baby’s heart beats or when the fetus squirms and kicks. Lauded by physicians, the device could potentially reduce an estimated 2.6 million stillbirths per year worldwide. “Almost a third of stillbirths occur in the absence of complicating factors,” said Negar Tavassolian, an associate professor who led the work at Stevens. “Our device could let a pregnant woman know if her fetus is compromised and she needs to go to the doctor.” Many stillbirths are preceded by variations in fetal movement and heartrate, so affordable, lightweight monitors that detect vibrations generated from a hear...

What are the differences between Cat5, Cat6, and Cat7 Ethernet cables?

While wireless gear is popular, the backbone of any network should be connected via an Ethernet cables. They offer higher and more consistent throughput, with less interference, which makes them the best option for gaming, too. These days, the choices comes down to a handful of different types: Cat5, Cat6, and Cat7, with some variations. (Cat is short for “category” and generally denotes the speed the cable is able to carry.) If you’re rocking one of the best gaming routers, you need the cabling to match. For years, if you asked any geek which was the best cable, the response was often Cat5 (although they were mostly referring to the subsequent variant Cat5e. More on that later). Numbering the different categories all started when copper telephone cable was then repurposed to carry both voice communication data. These older cables were unshielded in a twisted pair configuration, designated as Cat1. They have a data rate that maxed out at a pokey 1 Mbps, although nobody would use this for a data connection for decades after. (Good ol’ ’90s dial-up.) So what are the differences between the modern categories, and which one should you use for your home ...

Number 8860726. “When are you scheduling the next production run?” I’m shouting into the phone, hopelessly optimistic that my screams will somehow, someway induce my Wuhan supplier to make my client’s electrical harnesses that were due six weeks ago . . . to no avail. The factory remains shut down until health inspectors give the OK to resume work. And even if it passes, the hundred or so employees can’t get back to Wuhan from the lunar New Year holiday, a time when millions of migrant workers return to the countryside to visit relatives. It’s a long, painful waiting game. This has been the scenario, more or less, since the Wuhan lockdown on January 23. “It’s tough,” exclaims Romy Taormina, CEO and founder of Psi Health Solutions, a maker of wrist bands for the relief of nausea. “I’m not getting products in time, and I’m paying higher costs to air freight them in. I’m promised a shipment in mid-March, so we’ll see what happens.” I’m getting an earful of comments like...

Composite Tubing for Pneumatic and Hydraulic Cylinders From: Polygon Composites Technology

PolySlide tubing from Polygon Composites Technology replaces metallic material in a variety of cylinder applications. Supplied as a cylinder tube ready for user assembly, or as fully engineered cylinder assemblies for equipment manufacturer applications, the tubing is made of continuous filament-wound glass fiber and polymer resins. The fiberglass filament and resin materials combine together to form a high strength component that exhibits dimensional stability, is non-corroding, impingement-resistant and non-conductive. The cylinder tubing performs in high and low temperatures, grease, grit, salt, chemicals, and other extreme conditions. Tubing sizes range from 0.25-inch inner diameter (ID) up to industrial-sized 24-inch IDs. The features of the tubing allow the seal to slide over the bore surface contour, minimizing interlocking friction. The inside diameter of the tubing has a smooth finish. Contact with the non-metallic rod guide bearing prevents galling and provides for a low coefficient of friction. A wear-resistant material incorporated into the bore surface further increases the lifespan of the tubing. Commonly found in pneumatic and low pressure hydraulic applications, ...
