PHOTOS: New Valentine’s Day Conversation Heart Jewelry Arrives at Walt Disney World

Today at Walt Disney World, we spotted a sweet surprise when we came across a new set of Valentine’s Day-themed jewelry. Let’s take a closer look! This conversation heart charm bracelet is sweet as sugar and has the most adorable little phrases on it! Each of the charms is backed with metal and topped with a phrase in enamel. Some are classic phrases like “pucker up” and “I love you,” while some are distinctly Disney like “OH BOY!” And “hi ya cutie!” The packaging is a cardboard card with a graphic at the bottom showing gloved Mickey hands in a heart and the phrase “#LOVE you.” This conversation heart necklace set is perfect for you and your sweetie. Each of the necklaces features a metal and enamel charm with either “#Mickey’s Sweetheart” or “#Minnie’s Sweetheart” (but with hearts instead of the actual word “heart”), a metal and enamel Mickey head charm and a tiny jewel charm. This set comes on the same cardboard backing card as the bracelet, making it a perfectly giftable set. This gold heart-shaped locket features Minnie planting a big ol’ smooch on Mickey! It it looks like she got him good a few other times; look at all that lipstick! The locket comes on a gold chain and can...

A former telecoms entrepreneur, the Virginia senator says that saving the industry (and democracy) might mean

A former telecoms entrepreneur, the Virginia senator says that saving the industry (and democracy) might mean blowing up Big Tech as we know it. In mid-November, as his House colleagues on Capitol Hill were consumed with questions about Ukraine and impeachment, Senator Mark Warner took to CNBC’s Squawk Box to discuss what he saw as one of the most important problems facing the country: Fitbit. Or, more specifically, the danger of allowing Google to swallow up the personal fitness and health-monitoring gadget and its terabytes of consumer data. “The Fitbit deal needs a high, high level of scrutiny,” the Democratic senator from Virginia told anchor Andrew Ross Sorkin. “Large platform companies have not had a very good record of protecting the data or being transparent with consumers. I can’t totally blame them. If Congress doesn’t set rules of the road, asking them to self-regulate is, frankly, just not a viable option.” Across the board, we as a country need to be hitting pause on the advances of Big Tech, Warner argued, channeling his inner trust-busting Teddy Roosevelt. He sees warning signs flashing all around, like Facebook’s fledgling attempt to launch a digital currency, L...

Red and White Fleet present the successes and considerations of operating a hybrid-electric propelled sightseeing vessel

Red and White Fleet present the successes and considerations of operating a hybrid-electric propelled sightseeing vessel – and how this is a first step towards a fully electric fleet Sightseeing passenger ferry owner Red and White Fleet revealed its recently delivered vessel has achieved fuel savings of around 35% compared to a steel ship with conventional propulsion by using an aluminium-hulled, hybrid-electric vessel. The savings were the biggest highlight from a year’s operation of newbuild passenger vessel Enhydra in San Francisco harbour, California. The 39-m vessel carries up to 600 passengers on an hour-long voyage around San Francisco several times a day. And its Cummins generators and Corvus 160-kWh energy storage system give Enhydra nearly 600 kW of power for the trips. Red and White Fleet president Captain Joe Burgard said the company wanted to build an inspirational vessel with forward-looking technology, and the end product had to be more economical than typical vessels performing similar services. “The hybrid-electric propulsion represents around 10% of the capital; we needed to see a return on that investment,” Captain Burghard said at Riviera Maritime Media’s Ma...

If you’ve stuck with iOS through the years, you know that each new iteration brings a

If you’ve stuck with iOS through the years, you know that each new iteration brings a slew of incredible new features. Apple’s iOS 11 has been rolling out to devices since Sept. 19 and so far, so good. Even if version 11.0.1 is already here, there have not been any iOS 8.0.1-level headaches thus far. The new mobile OS works with iPhone 5s and higher, iPad mini 2 and up, and the 6th-gen iPod touch. The shift to 64-bit apps means the 2012 iPhone 5, the 4th-generation iPad, or the 2013 iPhone 5c have to remain on iOS 10. You’re not going to get any major speed out of those older models; Apple and its developers write code to suite newer devices with faster processors. But at least most iOS devices have this upgrade option; no Android-level fragmentation here. What are you waiting for? Go to Settings > General > Software Update on your iDevice of choice right now. If the update is available to you, it’ll show up there and you can get started with the download. It only took about 30 minutes, even on an old iPhone 6, so expect even better install time with newer iPhones. Once it’s installed, check out the list below for the hidden features you will ...

Historically a space of intimacy and rebellion, some of the most invigorating cooking and cultural conversation

Historically a space of intimacy and rebellion, some of the most invigorating cooking and cultural conversation in the city takes place at the supper club table At the beginning of the last decade, supper clubs and temporary dining were ramping up to be a hot restaurant trend. James Lowe and Isaac McHale’s The Young Turks at The Ten Bells in Shoreditch was at the heart of it all — two chefs with serious pedigree taking over a pub room and going on to open Michelin-starred restaurants down the road from their residency. This route has spawned many more acclaimed restaurants over the course of the decade: Asma Khan’s Darjeeling Express; Mandy Yin’s Sambal Shiok; Ana Gonçalves and Zijun Meng’s TaTa Eatery; and Mark Dobbie, Andy Oliver and Tom George’s Som Saa. The supper club, pop-up, and restaurant residency circuit remains a key part of London’s dining scene in 2020. These spaces are invaluable in perfecting cooking: to experiment, to try, to fail, to grow, to learn. It is also a way to gather a loyal following who want to be part of the process and understand that it is a work in progress, whether or not the end goal is opening a restaurant, or honing a service in a cook’s home ...
